Almost 7 weeks old

me happy, me scowling, muscle man

holding my binky, the smile mom loves

I can't believe how fast time is going. It is amazing as well that a little grin or smile can erase a moms memory of previously fussy times during the day. Brock is growing and changing so fast before my eyes. Today with tummy time he did the best he has done yet of holding and pushing himself up. I was amazed. I only wish I had the camera close.

Smiles

Today I finally caught a smile on camera. His smiles are still kind-of random, but are no longer only in the going off to dreamland state.

My growing boy

This Friday Brock will be 6 weeks old. I can't believe how much he has grown in that time. If my scale is anywhere near correct, he weighs somewhere around 14 lbs!!! As you can see in the pictures, he is a big boy.

Our God is Awesome

Never in my life would I imagine myself creating our blog at 1:30 in the morning when my son is sleeping, but I feel truly compelled at this moment to do so. I would never imagine myself now feeling extremely happy and relieved that today I pretty much lost my job, or don't have "guaranteed hours" anymore. But, today God has taught me one of the best lessons I have learned in my life so far. That would be: employers will always view employees as just that- employees, employees come and go. Most are not willing to try or do any extras for their employees. Hence, I will always put my family and myself first when it comes to work, something that I have rarely done in the past. A verse that I have known for a long time sticks out to me right now, Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." I found an old sermon note on 'Prayer and Jesus' from two years ago at this time in my Bible this morning and it had the question "What is God calling you to trust in?" My response was: "He has a plan for our life." Today God has truly shown me from where we were two years ago, living with my in-laws and not sure of where life was going- to now in Nevada with our own house and our newest addition Brock, that He has a plan for our life and His plan is far greater than I could have ever imagined or created myself. I am so thankful that we have an awesome, loving, faithful God to trust and believe in.
These are some pictures from the last month. Brock Neil Harris was our Halloween surprise this year, born at 4:51 pm. He weighed in at 8lbs 5oz, 20 in. long. I can truly say that I don't think time has ever passed by so fast before. That is why I have to cherish these moments as they come, yes even the many fussy ones. :)
